My career with the PVCPTeam
I’ve been with the company for 29 years. I thought I’d stay a few months and travel, but I grew up with Center Parcs! Like a lot of people, I started out in the call center, but soon felt the need for something more stimulating, so I was offered a job managing the head office reception. I then moved on to the Marketing, Sales and Public Relations department before becoming assistant to the Operations Director. I’d always done a bit of PR, so when the position of PR Manager in Germany came up, I applied and got the job. That was 9 years ago, and the job continues to offer me plenty to develop. I manage public relations for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and now Denmark. This job is very stimulating, due to the challenges our sector has faced, first with the Covid crisis, then with the energy crisis. I’m constantly meeting new people and journalists, and I have a great deal of freedom and autonomy to develop and manage the countries for which I’m responsible.
What made me want to stay?
It’s not just the job. My job is interesting, but I could do the same job elsewhere. What I like here is the team spirit. If you need support, you can count on your colleagues. If you have an idea, you’ll always find someone willing to discuss it. In this company, people listen to you, even if they occupy a hierarchical position well above yours. Never in my career have I said to myself that I couldn’t work with such and such a person. And when I go on a business trip with colleagues, of course we work hard, but we also have a lot of fun! What I also like is the feeling of being part of the development of a product that is fantastic. For example, I followed our latest Center Parcs in Germany from A to Z, accompanied the press to the site, and was part of the success story!
For me, ‘getting back to basics’ means…
Spending time with those I love: my parents, my friends, my colleagues. A big car is no use to me if I’m all alone in it, and neither are expensive vacations if I don’t share them with anyone. So yes, that’s what it’s all about for me.
